Description
The steel Indian hilt with knucklebow elaborately inlaid in vinework and gilded, the broad English blade by famous maker Wilkinson and so marked with Pall Mall address, together with the crest and motto of the Prince of Wales, the reverse with an Arabic cartouche stating, MADE BY WILKINSON, well-forged with central fuller, bearing most original polish and edge retaining considerable sharpness. In its fabric-covered wooden scabbard bound with silver braid. With a fine sword belt with large silver buckle and broad, embroidered band and cross strap with integral pouch, the whole elaborately embroidered. 19th century. Light wear. Overall length 86.5cm.
