Rarely encountered work typical of Kutch, Eastern Gujerat, the Persiform hilt wrought of copper and intricately engraved overall in fine flowering vinework. The robust, lightly-curved, Persian heirloom blade well-wrought of actively-grained wootz. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard, with elaborate engraved and embossed mounts en suite with the hilt with traces of gilding. Mid-18th century. Worn, areas of rubbing. Overall length 90.4cm. Condition III
