Description
Fine Mughal work, an earlier example than usually encountered. Finely wrought of wootz steel, the hemispherical bowl with spike finial, captured nasal bar, the upper terminal formed as a bohte with fretted border and plume tubes, all elaborately embellished with flowering vinework in gold. Retains its camail of very fine steel and brass rings wrought in the lehrian (zigzag) pattern. 17th-18th century. Light wear. Height 60cm. Condition II
