Description
A quality example, with elephant grips and steel pommel and guard finely chiseled and inlaid with gold. The long, graceful single-edged blade wrought of fine, actively-grained Persian black wootz and inscribed with three cartouches inlaid in gold, one partially effaced, at the right forte, with an additional cartouche inscribed ALI! together with a badouh, or magic square at the left forte. Late 18th-early 19th century. Minor wear, inlay rubbed. Overall length 92.5cm. Condition III
