With white metal cruciform hilts, the grips decorated, and characteristic quadrangular blades, with rarely-encountered sharpened tips. Each struck at the fort with numerous marks including SOLINGEN and G. LOHSE & CIE, and at one forte, E MARIA DEL RIO, suggesting they may have come from the city of that name near San Juan Potosi, Mexico. C. 1870. Overall length of each 99cm. Condition II
