Description
The hilt wrought entirely of steel and elaborately inlaid in complex gold and silver vinework patterns. The broad, T-backed blade wrought of fine Persian black wootz, with distinctive raised, chamfered cutting edge and yelman (back edge) in bright polish, inlaid at the forte with a Kufic-style inscription in two cartouches. 18th ? 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 81.5cm. Condition II
