Description
The grip a single section of green jade, the pommel carved as a sheep’s head with ruby eyes set in high-karat gold, with a high-karat gold necklace around its neck set with an emerald and ruby. The blade wrought of fine, actively-grained wootz, the bolster and forte elaborately inlaid with flowering vinework in gold. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with profiled and gilded mounts. 19th century. Velvet well worn. Overall length 37.4cm. Condition II
