Qajar era, the steel hilt with trefoil pommel and guard of characteristic form displaying curled quillons with monster head terminals, and elaborately inlaid in gold and silver overall. The blade straight and broad, double-edged and etched overall with Qur’anic calligraphy interspersed with panels containing busts of heroes from Persian mythology. Overall length 95.4cm. Condition II
