Unusually elaborate German or Swiss work, the well-wrought skull in two pieces with original black finish alternating with finely-embossed and bright-polished panels, with characteristic comb, and peaked visor and neck guard with polished borders. The large earpieces en suite and well fitted. Mid-16th century. Minor wear. Overall height 31.5cm. Condition II
