Description
Mounted with a silver cutlery grip and oval guard. The straight, double-edged blade with spear tip and central ridge, etched, NEVER DRAW ME WITHOUT REASON, NEVER SHEATH ME WITHOUT HONOUR, and struck at the forte, R. LINGARD / PEACROFT / SHEFFIELD (SHEFFIELD double struck.) Mid-19th century. Light wear. This type of easily-concealed dagger was highly popular in America during the latter half of the 19th century, particularly amongst adventurers and military officers. Overall length 24.5cm. Condition III
