Description
Comprising an M 1899 Type 32 Ko-pattern saber, a silk-framed photo of the young WWII-era Japanese officer who owned it, and his Seiko watch in a leather lanyard case. Sword of characteristic form with scabbard. The silk-framed photo with Japanese markings to the reverse containing a photo of a young cavalry officer holding the sword, his tunic with the 74th Cavalry Brigade insignia on the collar. The prewar Seiko watch contained in a leather fob together with a photo of a young woman. C. 1940. All as found. Overall length of sword 92cm. Condition IV.
