Description
An early example with native walnut stock, the flared butt with geometrical punchwork. With matchlock mechanism retaining a section of match, pan with pivoting cover and pierced trigger. The fine heirloom barrel with flared muzzle showing a complex damascus twist pattern with silver inlay at the forte, retained to the stock by brass bands. Retains its leather sling. Latter 18th century. Worn overall. Overall length 176.5 cm. Condition III
