Description
A rare example showing Central Asian influence. Mounted entirely in silver, the well-formed grip embossed and engraved overall in flowering vine and geometrical motifs. The graceful single-edged blade tapering continuously toward the tip, and forged of superior black wootz damascus steel. The silver scabbard with characteristic suspension loop takes the dagger in to the midpoint of the grip, and is likewise wrought entirely of well-embossed and engraved silver in geometrical cartouches and vinework. Retains its woven cord. Overall length 32.3 cm.
