Description
A fine example of Epirus workmanship, the entire stock of silver, chiseled, engraved and nielloed in intricate baroque motifs involving garlands and floral sprays with the Byzantine double-headed eagle at the wrist. The lock engraved overall, with elegantly-formed cock. The imported barrel struck with a maker’s mark at the breech. Late 18th-early 19th century. Areas of pitting to steel. Overall length 38.5 cm. Condition III
