Description
Elegantly wrought of steel in the form of a small horn, the cutoff lever terminating in a duck’s head, the toggles pierced. Finely polychromed overall with well-known lovers from the Persian epic Shah-Nameh, Vis and Ramin, each shown amongst trees in a pastoral landscape and dressed in period costume, Ramin with a musket. Bordered in gilt vinework. 19th century. Some wear. Overall length 9 cm. Condition III
