Description
Seldom-encountered work of the Kasseng People, carved of a single large section of very dense, dark wood of oval form with expanded terminals, convex curvature. Boldly decorated with stippled white metal bands and large studs; the reverse deeply inletted for the arm with raised flanges to support the iron mounts. Mid 19th century or earlier. Light wear. Overall length 78 cm. Condition II
