An officer’s helmet showing quality construction throughout. The bowl wrought in one piece, the applied domed finial with spike. The separately-applied peak with sliding nasal with applied, petaled bead, with set screw intact, profiled ear guards retain original straps. The neck guard four lames with excellent flexion and rolled borders. Mid-17th century. Pitted overall. Overall height 34.5 cm. Condition IV
