Description
A .31 caliber 6-shot cap & ball revolver with 5” octagonal barrel. All visible serial numbers matching, 279840, placing it in production year 1865. Barrel marked, ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK US AMERICA. The cylinder with complete engraved stage coach scene and COLTS PATENT No 9840. Brass back strap and trigger guard retaining small amount of silver plating. Most original varnish remaining on grips, one with minor chip, and approximately half original blued finish. Datable 1865. Some wear. Overall length 25cm. Condition III
