Description
Of classic form with steel stirrup hilt and leather-covered wooden grip with remains of twisted silver wire. The lightly curved, single-edged blade with hatchet tip and broad fuller etched with vegetal and floral motifs and a cavalry officer, stands of arms, and the British crest, together with oval cartouches marked, WOOLEY AND DEAKIN, and WARRANTED, inlaid in gold. In its steel scabbard marked at the left throat with regimental designations. Beginning of the 19th century. Blade worn, scabbard possibly associated and pitted overall. Overall length 98.1 cm. Condition IV
