Iban People, elaborately-carved ironwood grip with aso motifs, massive handforged blade expanding continuously to the tip with fine pierced and wrought tentacle motifs and retaining much original black finish. In its carved wooden scabbard with rattan bindings, the pisau raut intact in its bark sheath. First half of the 20th century. Overall length 72cm. Condition II
