German, a quality example. The well-wrought steel hilt with thumbring, grip retaining twisted steel wire wrap. The long, broad double-edged blade of wrought with three fullers and marked with a pair of Passau wolves at the forte. Mid-17th century. Overall length 94cm. Condition III
