Description
Qajar era, very rarely encountered. Wrought of five plates, each cusped at the upper extremity, with hinged edges, the front plates with buckles. Elaborately etched overall with Persian heroes amongst foliage, and broad borders containing Kufic inscriptions and highlighted with silver inlay. First half of the 19th century. Worn. One plate possibly replaced in period. Overall height 36cm. Condition III
