Description
The fine, elaborate steel hilt of early form, with large, recurved crossguard terminating in monster heads, and single large guard wrought in one piece with it, consisting of a large plate finely pierced and engraved with complex vinework and angelic faces. The large, lobed pommel chiseled en suite, the wrenched grip retaining its original complex wire wrap and turksheads. The long, straight, double-edged blade wrought with a pair of central fullers terminating at the tip. Early 17th century. Light wear. Overall length 115.8cm. Condition II
