Description
Of characteristic hemispherical form with top spike, adjustable nasal bar, and plume tubes, finely chiseled with festoons of flower and vinework interspersed with the Shir ve Khorshid, the famous emblem of Iran, in which the sun rises over the lion bearing a shamshir, all highlighted in gold, the broad borders containing Arabic inscriptions heightened with silver inlay. Retains its camail of iron rings pointed termini. Mid-19th c. Very minor losses to mail. Height including camail 57.3cm.
