Description
With complex Central European-type hilt composed of numerous branches and a thumbring, with barrel-shaped wooden grip and spherical pommel, the characteristic Polish saber blade shallowly curved, stepped and fullered at the forte, with single continuous fuller extending to the expanded tip. Struck at the right forte with double sickle marks and retaining an inked collection number at the right forte. First half of the 17th c. Well worn, blade dark with areas of corrosion. See W.
