Description
Of classic form, the grip wrought entirely of silver, engraved and nielloed in characteristic Ottoman vinework motifs. The single-edged blade showing faint traces of of wootz forging, the leather-covered scabbard with silver seam and large, finely embossed, engraved and gilded silver mounts struck with a tughra mark. 17th-18th century. Blade pitted, gilding, leather worn. Overall length 31.8cm. Condition III
