Description
A massive example, with scent-bottle form brass pommel and twisted brass wire-wrapped wooden grip, the robust scrolled guard with recurved quillons. The massive, lenticular-section blade etched at the forte on either side with panels of vinework and wrought with three narrow fullers running to the tip. 18th century. Areas of pitting, pommel repaired in period. Overall length 104.6cm./ 41 3/16 inches. Condition III
