Description
A massive example with faceted horn grip of typical form, retained by silver rivets, the exceptionally broad, parallel-edged blade pattern welded with hardened edges and obtuse point, wrought with a narrow central fuller to each side and struck with a makers mark. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with characteristic pierced and profiled iron chape. First half of the 19th century. Worn. Overall length 53.9cm./ 21 7/32 inches. Condition III
