A very rare example of Circassian work, the large buckle made in two sections of engraved, gilded and nielloed silver with beaded borders and set with five oval carnelians, retains its captured closure pin. Inscribed WORK OF HAJI GHAYIT 1303 (1885 C.E.) On its embroidered gold fabric belt set. Dated 1885. Minor wear. Overall length 80cm./ 31 ½ inches. Condition II
