A large example, with figured grips, the obverse set with turquoise talisman stones, the tangband and integral faceted bolster true-inlaid in gold in flowering vine motifs. The massive, single-edged blade wrought of Persian black wootz with fine chiseled and gold inlaid spine. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard. Mid-18th century. Gold inlay rubbed, areas of pitting. Overall length 39.7 cm, 15 and 5/8 inches. Condition III
