Description
Mughal work, a rare type. The steel hilt of characteristic form, the robust blade showing evidence of wootz forging, of characteristic recurve, with a deep central fuller and three panels of back fullers, with a pronounced yelman back edge terminating in a massive armor-piercing tip. Struck at the right forte with sickle marks. 18th century. Minor wear. Overall length 81cm./ 31 57/64 inches. Condition II
