A massive example, the horn grips with large, perpendicular ears, reinforced with brass wrap overall. The long, thick blade with silver inlay panels to either side, and the inscription, THERE IS NO HERO LIKE ALI AND NO SWORD LIKE ZULFAQAR! With chiseled motifs toward the long, acute thrusting tip. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large brass mounts with vegetal and geometrical embellishment. Mid-19th century. Well worn overall. Overall length 88cm./ 34 41/64 inches. Condition III
