A buckler, of hardened hide with pronounced rolled edge, lacquered black with large decorative panels interspersed with plants. With four pierced and dentated brass bosses and a profiled crescent. First half of the 19th century. Minor losses to lacquer, reverse with chips. Diameter 32.6cm./ 12 53/64 inches. Condition III
