The helmet of characteristic hemispherical form with chain mail camail, elongated top spike, adjustable nasal bar and plume tubes, embellished with chiseled intertwining cartouches depicting Persian nobles and heroes at court inlaid in gold, with broad borders containing Arabic inscriptions. The circular shield forged from steel with applied brass rim, elaborately etched overall with finely-detailed nobles hunting a variety of beasts and birds with gold inlay, encircled by cartouches containing Arabic calligraphy and scalloped bosses Mid-19th century.
