Description
Rarely encountered, a form which originated in 18th century Colonial Mexico, made entirely of leather, roughout with applied leather mounts at the waist and sides, and struck with a brand mark at the left cuff. Set with three silver buckles. The reverse with original turned toggles. Of the quality worn by hidalgos and other Mexican aristocrats. (see image below—NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LOT.) Late 19th-early 20th century. Minor wear. Overall length 91cm./ 35 ¾ inches. Condition III
