Rarely encountered, one of a group of European military muskets sold to the Sultan of Muscat in the latter 19th century and embellished in the weapons bazaar with numerous pierced and engraved plaques and a characteristic hemispherical butt, likewise decorated. The percussion locked dated 1862. Well worn overall. Overall length 140cm./ 55 1/8 inches. Condition III
