Likely French, designed to fire stones and pellets for bird-stalking, the figured hardwood stock of characteristic bellied form with spherical butt, profusely carved, with steel mounts. With finely-wrought, removable bow. Retains its double sights and complex triggering system. Late 16th century-early 17th century. Overall length 83.2cm/ 32 and 3/4 inches. Condition II
