Description
A rare example showing Central Asian influence. Mounted entirely in silver, the well-formed grip engraved overall geometrical motifs. The graceful single-edged blade tapering continuously toward the tip, and forged of superior black wootz damascus ladder pattern. The silver scabbard with characteristic suspension loop takes the dagger to well past the bolster, and is likewise wrought entirely of well-embossed and engraved silver in geometrical cartouches and vinework. 18th century. Areas of wear. Overall length 29cm/ 12 inches. Condition III
