Qing Dynasty, the characteristic hilt with iron horses hoof pommel and ferrule and round guard with raised border, with intricate woven grip wrap. The well-forged, fullered blade with expanded tip, and showing pattern-welded damascus construction and hardened edge. In its silk-covered wooden scabbard with intact mounts. Latter 19th century. Worn overall, guard slightly loose. Overall length 96.3cm/ 38 inches. Condition III
