Classic hilt of characteristic form, wrought of Persian black wootz steel, with finely pierced pommel. The lightly-curved, single-edged blade with narrow central fuller and inlaid brass disk considered a mark of quality, wrought of finely contrasted, intricately-grained Perian black wootz. 18th-19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 93cm/ 36 5/8 inches. Condition II
