Description
Fitted with a locally made Tower-type percussion mechanism. The hardwood stock of characteristic form, fitted with a locally-made barrel of considerable length with swamped muzzle, and rare steel-tipped bipod. Ramrod and leather sling intact. C. 1850. Worn. Sush weapons were very effective and saw extended use during the Anglo-British Wars. Overall length 156.5cm/ 61 ½ inches. Attached photo c. 1860 is NOT included in this lot—for reference only.
