Comprising the classic helmet of the type with broad pivoting peak and three-bar faceguard with neck and ear flaps intact, together with a heavy breastplate with shot proof with steel shoulder mounts intact. Accompanied by a fine modern leather buff coat. Deaccessioned from a private museum. All leathers and japanning well-restored. Mid-17th century. Height of breastplate 41.5cm/ 16 3/8 inches.
