Description
An exceptionally large and superbly decorated example, wrought entirely of silver, engraved, nielloed, and inlaid with four elephant panels finely inlaid in gold vinework and an applied rose gold plaque pierced with flowers and the crowned monogram of Tsar Nikolai II (1868-1918,) the reverse with engraved and nielloed panels. The exceptionally long, double-edged blade triple-fullered. 20th century. Blade with large spot of rust to obverse. Overall length 79cm/ 31 1/8 inches. Condition II
