Description
Edo era, the seven-plate steel bowl lacquered black and gold with fine maedate representing a flowering vine before a full moon in copper lacquer. The steel shikoro of four plates, each rounded, leather-covered fukurin with bonji inscription, shikoro lacquered deep brown with textured, lacquered lower plate, and two tones of blue lacing. Original lining intact. With its menpo of red-lacquered steel with laced three-lame neckguard intact. 17th-18th century. Light wear, minor losses to lacquer. Overall height 30.5cm/ 13 1/2 inches. Condition II
