Description
Very rarely encountered, the work of Tausug (Sulu) People who settled in Northers Sulawesi, hilt carved of a single large section of banati wood with integral guard, consistent in general form with the type but showing distinct regional variation. The long, well wrought blade of characteristic form likewise showing some variation in the large, well-profiled spikelet and tip. 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 93 cm
/ 35 1/2 inches. Condition II
