Description
A form popular in Northern Europe, of unusually high quality. The grip carved of a single section of pale green and lavender agate, the silver ferrule with filigree work. The broad, straight, single-edged blade with distinct clipped tip, struck at the right forte with makers marks, a dog, a star, and a cluster of grapes(?) 16th-17th century. Rubbed. Overall length 22.3cm/8 3/4 inches. Condition III
