Description
With gilded silver grip of waisted form engraved in panels of vinework, the base worked with prominent rumi motifs, the pommel with green glass gem. The robust, lightly-curved and double edged blade with elegant central ridge inlaid with gold panels at the forte and wrought of fine black wootz. The en suite scabbard with wooden core likewise heavily gilded silver engraved with panels of vinework to the obverse, the reverse with parcel gilt cartouches containing blooming flowers. First half of the18th century. Gem a period replacement, damage to grip. Overall 41.3cm. Condition III
