Description
Of characteristic form, likely made at Delhi. All steel surfaces with the exception of the cutting edge and spine are finely and minutely inlaid in gold in vine and tendril motifs. Grips with fine patina, set with a toggle. In its red fabric-covered wooden scabbard bound with silver braid and fitted copper chape. Mid-18th century. Checking to one grip, wear to fabric. Overall length 39.7 cm. Condition II
