Description
Rare in carbine length, made for a horseman. The dark walnut stock of characteristic form, finely embellished overall with embossed and engraved silver plaques for its entire length, signed WORK OF MUSTAFA and the year [11]92 (1776/77 c.e.) The miquelet lock with profiling and elaborate silver inlay and set with a coral in a silver bezel. The heavy, round heirloom barrel forged of fine twisted damascus steel and inlaid in gold foliate designs at the breech and muzzle, retained to the stock by finely wrought silver bands. Retains its ramrod. Latter 18th century. Minor wear, small section of silver missing from lock. Overall length 107cm. Condition II
