Description
A rare form, designed to be worn over a turban. Constructed of four rectangular steel lamellae alternating with panels of riveted mail, the domed cap with faceted finial, the lamellae overlapping and connected at either end with riveted mail rings which develops into a triangular flap to protect the face and falls to the shoulders. Late 16th-early 17th century. Minor losses to rings. Overall height 61cm. Condition III
